Hello! Welcome to my world.
I am Sharla Miller-Baer, a professional figurative artist based in rural Wisconsin, USA. I’ve loved art and the process of creating art ever since I was a child. Later on, my art became a means to tell my story as I navigated leaving the Mennonite culture. My experience growing up Mennonite led me to begin The Hope Collection, an informative and emotive series of paintings on grief, loss of community, the objectification of women, sexual assault, dissociation, body dysmorphia, and depression. Creating art has become a lovely way to rediscover myself and my place in the world. In a world where there is so much ugliness, I hope to leave beauty. Welcome to the journey!
